Outgoing Idaho Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin urged Americans to stay engaged and be educated about their freedoms and rights during the Dec. 15 episode of “Keep the Republic” on Brighteon.TV.
“It’s so important that we remain on guard as citizens – and as We The People of this great nation, we have to stay engaged,” she told host Dr. Daniel Bobinski. “We have to be educated to know our freedoms and our rights, what they are and where they come from.”
McGeachin, the first female lieutenant governor to serve in the Gem State, said Americans have to make sure they stay focused and remain a moral country and recognize the role of God in their lives and in the nation because it will keep them humble as humans.
The former Idaho state representative pointed out that the violation of basic human rights happens when authorities are not following the rule of law and ignoring the freedoms, liberties and rights provided by the nation.
Meanwhile, Bobinski said Americans need to understand the Declaration of Independence in order to understand the Constitution and how their rights are being violated. He noted that the people who are trying to restore the Constitution are now being accused of undermining the republic and overthrowing the government. McGeachin said America is a Judeo-Christian nation founded on the principles of religious freedom and liberty. According to her, the basic fundamental principle of Christianity is that people should live in freedom and not become slaves to the bondage of sin.
Bobinski agreed and cited the words of Founding Father John Adams. The nation’s second president said the U.S. Constitution was made for a moral and religious people.
The award-winning and bestselling author added that America’s Founders talked about the need for faith while they were in office. Bobinski also mentioned that the Northwest Ordinance, which was one of the founding documents, talked about the need for public education.
Article 3 of the Northwest Ordinance states that “religion, morality and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged.”
“What it was implying is that religion or the study of Christian faith must be taught in American schools,” the host pointed out.
McGeachin said Americans should look at America’s basic Founding documents and statutes. “We need to just go back to the basics and make sure that we are teaching our kids basic learning skills. Teach them about our government, the formation of our government, the truth about the history of our government and the fact that America is the greatest nation on the face of this planet,” McGeachin said.
